Our History
Arabian Camp was founded by Khalid Khafagy, biomedical engineer, in 1996.
The idea for Arabian Camp took root in early 1995, when he embarked on a trip to Qalaa Alzomuroda {Emerald Fortress), a resting place for pilgrims, especially those coming from Alsham {the north). This journey was organized by the Saudi Arabian Natural History Society, led by a group of Western enthusiast’s keen on discovering and exploring ancient regions of Saudi Arabia. Captivated, he felt compelled to dive deeper, researching areas historically significant to the region. This passion eventually led to his role as a guide, organizing trips for the society, until he launched Arabian Camp officially.
